Dina Fahmy El Rouby has always followed the path of endless curiosity, refusing to settle for the familiar. Her adult life took her on a journey across multiple countries, expanding her worldview and enriching her artistic sensibility. Fluent in six languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, English, and Arabic, she seamlessly bridged cultural divides and wove them into her work.
After graduating from a French school and studying hospitality management at university, Dina embarked on a professional journey in Cairo. She soon moved to Spain to pursue her career in hospitality, followed by a chapter in Portugal. In 2000, just months before her mother’s passing, she returned to Egypt. In 2014, she began signing her paintings as “Dina El Rouby,” a tribute to her mother, the greatest supporter of her artistic journey and the one who first encouraged her to paint.
Dina’s full embrace of her art career began in 2011. She found deep inspiration in her travels, which profoundly shaped her artistic language, from evocative portraits to serene nature scenes. Her work is marked by idealism, abstraction, and a luminous warmth. Recently, she has explored minimalism through rich textures, achieving a powerful simplicity that makes her paintings instantly recognizable.
Her artistic breakthrough came in 2015 when she joined her first group exhibition at the Italian Consulate in Cairo, where her paintings caught the attention of renowned critics. This was quickly followed by another show at the Cairo Opera House. Since then, she has consistently exhibited her work, participating in more than one exhibition each year.
2016 marked her artistic maturity, with works like The Southern Woman, The White Hands, and The Four Birds. In her latest piece, The Red Dervish, Dina uses her art as a call for peace in a world increasingly plagued by violence.
Her first international exhibition took place in Paris in 2017 at the Egyptian Cultural Center, opening doors to further shows in Berlin, Vienna, London, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Budapest, Prague, and at the Egyptian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
Dina’s work has been featured on television in Italy, the UK, Hungary, and Egypt, and in numerous national and international magazines and newspapers. Spanish radio station Onda Cero also covered her exhibitions. In 2021, she was honored as Egypt’s representative at the Francophonie Festival in Budapest, recognized as an Egyptian woman, artist, and Francophone ambassador.
In 2020, after nine editions of the “Colours of Egypt” exhibition, Dina co-founded CLEG Art Gallery in Cairo, which quickly became a platform for pioneering and emerging artists. One of the highlights was an outstanding exhibition at the Art & Deco event at EMAAR Egypt’s Uptown Cairo, showcasing over 200 works by more than 90 artists.
Building on this experience, Dina later founded Art LINX, a platform dedicated to connecting artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. Art LINX curates exhibitions, promotes innovative projects, and bridges the gap between traditional and contemporary forms of artistic expression.
Dina’s paintings have traveled as widely as she has, gracing the Egyptian Embassy in Germany, the Egyptian Cultural Center in Paris, the Egyptian Cultural Office in Vienna, and the Hassan El Sharq Museum in Menya. Her collectors span the globe, from the UAE, USA, and Saudi Arabia to Qatar, Switzerland, Spain, the UK, Italy, Canada, and France.
A proud member of the Fine Artists Syndicate, Dina Fahmy El Rouby continues to push artistic boundaries. Her recent solo NFT exhibition, Myth of the 99, explored themes of myth, identity, and spirituality, while her groundbreaking 2024 show, The Circle: A Journey Through Ancient Civilizations, integrated augmented reality (AR) technology to create immersive experiences. Dina remains dedicated to redefining the role of art in today’s world.
